Exclusive chamber concerts, winding down and taking it slow within the setting of a spectacular natural backdrop - the InselKonzerte Herrenchiemsee touch body, mind and soul and attract classical music stars and audiences to Bavaria for a musical time-out.
A majestic mountain panorama, the sparkle of the sun in the water, the gentle movement of the waves: Those who set off from the port of Prien for the crossing over to the picturesque Herreninsel in the impressive Chiemsee leave everyday life and stress behind on the mainland. For years, the InselKonzerte have been a highlight of a visit to the island, in addition to strolling in the footsteps of the fairytale king Ludwig II:
Under the artistic direction of pianist William Youn and violist Nils Mönkemeyer, the stars of the classical music scene come together in nine chamber concerts from May to November to present chamber music gems in a wide variety of formations. Internationally acclaimed artists such as Julia Fischer, Herbert Schuch, Pavol Breslik or the piano duo Tal & Groethuysen as well as young talents can be experienced up close in the intimate library hall of the Chorherrenstift, open-air in the Rosenhof, in the picturesque Inselkapelle and, since 2023, also in the rooms of the Neue Schloss.
