Vladimir Kornéev – singer, actor, pianist und songwriter – is celebrated for bringing the richness of European chanson to life, with a powerful baritone voice praised for its emotional depth, boundless range, and nuanced expression. His singing combines vocal precision with theatrical storytelling, immersing audiences in the narrative of each song.
Born in Georgia in 1987, Kornéev fled to Germany with his parents at age six. After twelve years of piano training and completing his A-levels, he studied acting and singing at the August Everding Theatre Academy in Munich.
Highlights of the 2026/27 season include, in addition to other engagements, concerts with the Kammerphilharmonie Frankfurt and the “VERTYGO” program, the revival of his chanson evening “Um nicht allein zu sein” at the Tipi am Kanzleramt in Berlin, “Youkali” at the Bar jeder Vernunft in Berlin, and his return to the Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau.
Vladimir Kornéev is a welcome guest at prestigious festivals like Heidelberger Frühling, Kissinger Sommer, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and Rheingau Musik Festival, collaborating with well-known orchestras such as the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne, the BR Radio Orchestra and artistic partners like Grammy-winner James Blachly, conductor Ernst Theis and Patrick Bruel. His performances take place at venues like Konzerthaus Dortmund, Munich’s Prinzregenten Theatre, legendary Théâtre des Folies Bergère Paris, Montréal’s Place des Arts, Montréal Symphony House and Salle Wilfrid Pelletier, Crazy Coqs in London and two of the most important chanson stages in Germany, Bar jeder Vernunft and Tipi am Kanzleramt Berlin.
In 2020 he was Artist-in-Residence at Kurt Weill Fest Dessau. There, he presented “Youkali,” a program that traces Kurt Weill’s musical journey from Berlin and Paris to New York. This song recital was also performed at renowned European Parliament in Brussels.
In 2022, Kornéev made his North American debut with “Romance” alongside the Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec, earning praise as “one of the greatest voices of Europe.” He recorded „Le bon côté du ciel“ with Ginette Reno, written and composed by Jacques Veneruso, one of Celine Dion’s producers. The song became a platinum hit and reached #1 on the Québec charts. In 2023, Kornéev premiered „Le Droit d’Aimer“, interpreting Edith Piaf’s songs in a symphonic version.
In 2024, he presented „La Vie en Piaf“, the French adaptation of his Piaf program and collaborated with the Frankfurt Kammerphilharmonie to premiere „VERTYGO“, a musical and literary evening about the fall of the Weimar Republic – a project that interweaves historical reflection and contemporary urgency. In 2026, Vladimir Kornéev dedicated his acclaimed new program, “Um nicht allein zu sein” (“So as Not to Be Alone”), to his own life story, set to the chansons of French singer Dalida, which have accompanied him since the beginning of his career. With her chanson „Je suis malade“ he went viral taking part in the 2026 „The Voice“ France, singing it also in a impromptu duet with Lara Fabian.
His unique style has earned the singer numerous accolades, including three consecutive wins at the German National Singing Competition in Berlin. His impressive discography includes albums such aus „Weitergehn“ (2014), „Recital“ (2016), „Herz“ (2019), and the or chestral „Romance“ (2021), performed with the WDR Funkhausorchester. 2023 saw the release of his Kurt Weill song recital „Youkali“.
In addition to singing, Vladimir Kornéev is a distinguished character actor: in 2022, he gained international recognition for his portrayal of Tsar Alexander II in the Netflix series „The Empress“, which won an International Emmy Award in 2023. He played the lead role in „Life Is the Greatest Odyssey“, a short film by Damien Chazelle, the Oscar-winning director of „La La Land“. In 2025, he appeared in „Call My Agent Berlin“ on Disney+ as well as 2026 in „Miss Sophie“ (prime video) and „Hundertdreizehn“ (ARD). He will play the main character in an episode of the well-known German series „Nord bei Nordwest“ in 2027.
